Time Capsule

What better time to do a time capsule than the start of a new millennium!
It's a good idea to break this activity over at least 2 weeks. The first week discuss it and get everybody's ideas. The next week put the time capsule together and bury it. On our project we gave each Patrol leader a pre printed sheet (see below, which they filled in after discussing the questions with their patrol.
After digging the hole to bury the Time Capsule outside the Scout Hall we found the ground too wet to bury the tin. Instead we decided to hide the Time Capsule in a remote part of the Scout Hall loft.

Where would you bury the time capsule and how would you mark the spot?: Outside the scout hall. Mark the spot by taking a bearing of the hole from both corners of the scout hall and pacing out the distance. Then make a plaque for the scout hall wall giving details about the time capsule.
What would you use as the time capsule?: Sweet tin wrapped in plastic bags and tape
How long would you leave the time capsule buried?: 50 years
