With the District Sedan Chair Race fast approaching (12th April 2000) we had a night of designing, building and racing Sedan Chairs. Historically a "Sedan Chair" is a vehicle supported by two poles. Two people would carry the vehicle and a third would sit inside.
Using felt tips and paper the Scouts spent 30 minutes designing how they would decorate the existing pre-built Sedan Chairs for the actual race later this month. Each patrol then had another 30 minutes to build their own Sedan Chair ready for a quick inter-patrol race. Although we will be racing pre-built chairs on the day it is a requirement that the Scouts can build their own chair.
